Harmony Lamb’s dream to enter the healthcare field did not happen through typical means but she was determined and when the opportunity came, she couldn’t pass it up. Although she never got to be a doctor, nurse, or even a veterinarian, she was determined to work in health care, especially after experiencing how incredible the hospital teams were with her children when they were born. Harmony worked at a health and wellness company before HealthPoint but as soon as a position opened, she couldn’t resist and applied to it not only for herself and her family but for her community. Harmony mentioned, “I know what it is like to struggle with finding great healthcare growing up and compassionate providers. I wanted to be part of an organization that helps the community and strives for equality.”
Working at the front desk five years ago was just the beginning of Harmony’s career at HealthPoint. Ultimately, she knew her journey would not end there and wanted to keep learning new skills and continue growing her career. Harmony took a chance and applied to a new IT position with her peers' support. Harmony continued to explain, “Once I got a taste of the IT world, I knew I wanted to continue to learn and improve… Technology is such a big part of our lives in one way or another and it's always changing, always growing. Which means the thirst for knowledge will never stop.” Thinking ahead, Harmony sees herself in a supervisor role leading the next generation of techs on their paths in health care.
On top of having drive and ambition, Harmony has also been described as “knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to help with a smile and positive attitude.” It’s no surprise that she carries these qualities with her in her personal life too. Harmony describes family as follows, “Family was always a big part of my life growing up. And it has not changed for me. Family is the most important thing to me and one of my favorite quotes is ‘Family doesn’t end with blood.’”
